Breaking Down the Walls - Special thanks to Lori Fox, Mark Bailey, Tom Diede for helping with the Breaking down the wall program at Ready Springs...It's always a very interesting way to see what our community's students are experiencing in their lives and discussing ways for us, as Rotarians, to help...we'll hear from our members at the meeting on Tuesday, Feb 20..we provided 1/2 of the cost for the program through a District grant and our matching funds... DAFFODIL RUN...SUNDAY, APRIL 7 THE 24TH DAFFODIL RUN WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, APRIL 7...WE NEED MANY MANY HANDS AND LOTS OF SPONSORS AND RUNNERS!! Runner sign ups open on January 1 via the Daffodil Run website... If you can sponsor the run or know someone who might be able to sponsor, send a note to Lindy B and she'll send them a form or send the form to you for mailing...all sponsors must be in by March 15 to be included on the Daffodil Run t-shirt... more to come.. Around the Area... Services for PDG Doug McDonald will be held at St. Canice Church on Monday, Feb. 19 starting at 10:30. Reception following at the Horseman's club in Grass Valley... Rotary Leadership Institute is adding another date: March 16 here in Grass Valley...this is a good class for those who want to know a little more about Rotary, more about our District...location to be determined...watch for more details... Area music and speech contests are accepting applications...open to all High School students...Speech contest to be held on March 13 at Nevada Union HS (application for speech contest are due by March 1)...i can forward an application for the speech contest if needed...Marty Lombardi at 49er Rotary is the contact for the speech contest...
