WELCOME TO THE NEW ROTARY YEAR!!! THIS IS THE YEAR OF EVERYTHING PURPLE...PRESIDENT PAMELA'S YEAR... At our first meeting on Tuesday, July 7, President Pamela will introduce her new board, discuss RI, District and Club goals for the coming year, review our visioning goals and have time to brainstorm... First two meeting on July 7 and July 14, will be Zoom meetings with an "in person" social (masks and physical distancing) at a local business or park the last Tuesday of the month...we'll continue this format through September... Attention Club Golfers! - It's baaaack!!! Gene Vander Plaats and Dan Halloran are putting together our team (s) for another round of Golf for Kids in support of our club's Youth Services programs, scholarships and the Garden at Ready Springs, playing with the PV Lions Club. If you are interested in play on Sunday, October 18 at Lake Wildwood, please contact Gene at genovp@msn.com or Dan at danhalloran39@gmail.com. There will be open play and indexed play. Club Dues for the New Year... Invoices will be sent for Club dues and birthday/anniversary fines this month...the dues will be a little less since District dues were reduced...dues will be $155, payable in two parts, July/August 2020 and January 2021...Birthday and Anniversary fines will be due the birthday or anniversary month...Treasurer Ed will send statements to track your payments... Prayers please for Treasurer Ed's staff person (the one that does all the work) Linda Swartz...her daughter died unexpectedly in Alaska at the age of 35..Linda is the backbone of our club's financial tracking and we all need to send prayers for her healing... Upcoming Service Opportunities: Projects we'll be working on throughout the year.... We're putting together a team of folks who can help with recruiting and organizing weekly deliveries for Meals on Wheels to the 14 shut-ins in Lake Wildwood...Lindy is working on a task list which will be distributed next week, along with Mike Dobbins on publicity and Mark Bailey as the liaison with Lake Wildwood...if you feel you can help in any way, let Lindy know...lindybeatie@gmail.com Sprucing up Western Gateway Park's bathroom...sound like a real "ugh" project!!?? But it would be so beautiful afterwards...let Joanie Bumpus know if you can help...we may put this off until the fall .... SIERRA HARVEST GARDEN & AG curriculum AT READY SPRINGS SCHOOL... This is our one big project for the year....President Pamela will be writing a District matching grant so we can have funds to bring this to fruition...She'll be working with Mark Bailey and, hopefully, our resident Agriculture expert, Denise Cicogni, to get started later this summer...we'll need all hands on deck for this project, so find your garden gloves and pitch in where you can...updates regularly starting in August...
